I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Julie Baldwin, and I’ve been working behind the chair as a professional hair stylist and colorist in Columbia, South Carolina for over 28 years. I’ve spent the last two decades helping women feel beautiful, confident, and happy with their hair, and honestly—it never gets old.
For me, doing hair isn’t just about cutting or coloring. It’s about creating a space where you can sit back, relax, have a great conversation, and leave feeling like the very best version of yourself. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over two decades, and while I enjoy all aspects of hair styling, I have to admit—my true passion is hair coloring, especially dimensional hair color and blonding services. Whether it’s a soft, natural balayage, a bold new blonde, or subtle highlights that catch the light just right, I love the creativity that comes with crafting the perfect hair color for each of my clients.

Columbia Roots & A Dream Realized
A little about me — I was born and raised right here in Columbia, SC. After my husband, Mel, retired from active military duty, we made the decision to come back home to raise our two boys in the community we love.
It was during that season of life that a dream started to grow — the dream of owning my own small, cozy hair salon in Columbia where I could create a relaxing, one-on-one experience for every guest. I didn’t want a big, noisy, impersonal salon. I wanted a place that felt like home. A place where you could walk in, kick off your shoes (literally if you want!), and let your hair down in every way.
That dream became reality with my little salon cottage — a place that’s a little like “Cheryl’s She Shed,” but for hair. It’s where you can come, chat, laugh, vent, or just relax while I work my magic on your hair.

When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll probably find me spending time with my amazing husband Mel and our two boys. Being a wife and mom is my greatest joy. Our family loves road-tripping around South Carolina, exploring small towns, thrift shopping, and finding hidden antique stores.
We also enjoy outdoor adventures like gem mining in Abbeville, camping, fishing, and shooting sports. I have a bit of a creative side outside the salon, too—I love crafting, cooking, and on quiet days, you’ll usually find me tucked away reading a good book.
